were losers....but we looked good doing it...

well, we lost, but it has never felt so good! nobody expected us to win, or to even contend for that matter. we were playing the undefeated colts, at home, as a 12 point underdog. but wow did we look good for the first time all season!

honestly, i haven’t been the best titans fan this year. it seems for the last three or four years they have sent my favorite players packing. first went the freak, then dyson, then my ever favorite, derrick mason and then mcnair was the final straw. don’t get me wrong, i understand that football is a business, but mcnair gave us so many great years and we sent him to pasture way to early. not to mention the asshole tactics they used to make the separation that much more bitter. (i am sure he and mason are reveling in their 4-0 record while were 0-5!)

i hadn’t even planned on watching today’s game. as i told my son, i expected us to get stomped. and not just any stomping, but a payton manning stomping! so imagine my surprise as i stood there washing dishes, mouth gaping, as young ran it in for that touchdown! i was ecstatic! and it just kept getting better! by the time we robbed them of that touchdown at the goal line, manning was visually frustrated and we were looking good.

even though we lost it, we played one hell of a game! 214 yards rushing, a touchdown, and two field goals against the colts make’s for a good day indeed. and the fact that we held the colts, who lead the league in points per game and average something like 31 points per game, to a mere 14 hard to come by points is amazing! by the end, i had begun to scare the children with my random outburst’s at the screen! it’s been awhile since i’ve been that into a game.

hopefully, we can keep up the effort. who knows…maybe next week we’ll win!
